Pronounce
Seeing words and hearing them read aloud in Chinese is a powerful combination to learn Chinese.
Loqu8 iCE is the simple way to learn how to speak Chinese. Choose from a selection of Chinese voices in Mandarin and Cantonese. With rate control, it's even easier to learn pronunciation.
iCE uses a sophisticated text-speech engine to generate pronunciations on-demand. Unlike older technologies which use pre-recorded voices, iCE lets you easily switch voices and even speech rates. Pronounce and AutoPronounce work with Chinese text in the popup, scan (LiveScan, HighlightScan and ClipboardScan) windows. Pronunciation even works with words and phrases from new dictionaries you add to iCE.
Pronounce and AutoPronounce
There are three convenient ways to hear Chinese text read aloud to you.
1. From any Loqu8 iCE window, select a word(s) and click the Pronounce button from the toolbar
2. You may also choose Pronounce when you right-click an entry
3. From Settings > Speech,
enable AutoPronounce (Standard and
Professional editions)
With AutoPronounce enabled, simply scan (point, highlight or copy) Chinese text. Loqu8 iCE will read the selected words aloud. From the HighlightScan and ClipboardScan windows, point to the words in the upper reading panel to hear words pronounced.
To hear the word(s) pronounced again, click Pronounce from the toolbar or right-click menu

Saying a phrase in Chinese
Select a word or passage of Chinese text and let Loqu8 iCE read the words aloud. Listen to the text and follow along the Pinyin: shuǐguǒ yǎngshēng: xiāngjiāo jiǎnféi zǎocān xiǎng "shòu" jiànkāng.
